In 1997, while waiting for an important interview, I reached into my closet and felt the familiar sting of shoulder pokes and stubborn creases on my shirts. It was a small frustration that became a big idea: what if clothes could stay fresh and ready to wear right off the hanger? That moment sparked Hanger Huggers—a simple, reusable foam sleeve that gently wraps around most plastic or wire hangers, protecting garments from stress while keeping them securely hung.

A family of support

The journey from concept to product has been a team effort. Today I’m thrilled to collaborate with my son Spencer, who brings his technical expertise to fine‑tune every detail of the design.

A lifelong commitment to service

My career has spanned teaching, counseling, and nursing—roles that have given me a deep appreciation for helping others, especially children. This background fuels our mission at Bede Hive: to make everyday life easier and kinder, starting with something as simple as a hanger.

Giving back

A portion of every sale goes toward the development of Camp COCOON, a therapeutic nonprofit camp dedicated to supporting children who have survived abuse or neglect. By choosing Hanger Huggers, you’re also helping to provide safe, healing spaces for those most in need.
